Your primary responsibility will be to create and execute test cases outlined in a testing plan to confirm software is functioning correctly. This testing will be focused on software products that are built in-house for our clients’ specific needs. We expect that you will grow into the Quality Assurance Technician 2 position.
Your daily activities typically include:
- Perform tests from test cases
- Replicate failed test cases, record steps, and necessary data
- Collaborate with software developers to address and resolve bugs you report
- Utilize tools built for automating parts of the testing process
- Follow guides to set up and maintain software environments for testing purposes
- Report status to team leadership in terms of quality level and work remaining
You will be supported through new hire training and guided in your day-to-day tasks by your team lead.
The ideal candidate:
- Holds a high school diploma or GED
- Has significant personal or professional experience investigating, navigating, and effectively working with with a variety of software and technical tools
- Has good organization and time management skills
- Is meticulous and pays attention to detail
- Takes pride in their work and contributions to the overall success of projects and the company
- Is a reliable, hard worker who thrives on uncovering gaps in software quality
- Is proficient at utilizing and learning technical software tools
- Demonstrates academic or professional experience working on a team
- Clearly expresses ideas verbally and graphically
- Is able to perform physical demands including: using computer equipment in an office setting, occasionally lifting and moving objects up to 40 pounds, and occasionally traveling to meet with clients in person.
- Is a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee, refugee, or temporary resident. Temporary residents do not include those with nonimmigrant work authorization (F, J, H or L visas), such as students in practical training status. Exceptions to these requirements may be determined based on shortage of qualified candidates with a particular skill. CAPSHER will require proof of work authorization.
